16 Things You Need To Remember

There are things you need to remember every day of your lives.

For instance, if you have started back to school, (aff. link)  you know there are things that you need to remember each day, such as your homework, your lunch,  your bookbag, what time the school bus comes, etc.

Now moms, they need to remember everything!   Or so it seems that way anyway.  And dads too need to remember lots of things. I guess that is why we make TO DO lists so we don’t forget the important things.

 Thngs You Need To Remember

As a Christian there are several things in God’s Word you need to remember.

  1. Your Creator  – don’t forget young people, it is God that has made you, He is the creator, you belong to Him.  Hopefully, you belong to Him through Salvation.
    • Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
  2. How short time is – If you are young , you may think you have all the time in the world, but the truth is, time is short, time flies, life is a vapor – it appears for a little while and then vanishes – we need make sure we know the Lord and we need to use our time wisely.
    • Psalms 89:47 Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?
  3. What Christ did for you – Christ gave His all so that we might have all in Him.  He is all we need.  To think that He would die for a sinner like me – how can it be?
    • Luke 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
  4. Poor People – Ask God to show you who the needy really are and then reach out to them.
    • Galatians 2:10 Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.
  5. The Name of the Lord  – Remember the Lord and who He is no matter what your circumstances.  You can trust Him to do the impossible.
    • Psalms 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
  6. The Way God Led You – How has God led you?  Do you remember?  His way is always perfect.  Let Him guide you step by step.
    • Deuteronomy 8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
  7. Those in prison – Do you think about those and pray for many who are in prison for their faith?  I’ve often wondered if I would be true to the Lord if it were me.  Here is a good read – Captive in Iran (aff.)
    • Heb 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
  8. God’s Marvellous work – Remember all His marvellous works and tell what great things He has done for you!
    • 1Ch 16:12 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
  9. They persecuted Christ, so they will persecute you.  So why do we act surprised when the world hates us?
    • Joh 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also
  10. It is more blessed to give than to receive.
    • Act 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
  11. Those who have spoken the Word of God to you.  Praise the Lord someone told me about Jesus and Praise the Lord for the continued spoken Word of God which I am able to hear from week to week in our ministry.  This is what encourages and edifies.  Here is a true story of Amish people (aff. link) who were told the truth from God’s Word.
    • Heb 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
  12. From whence you are fallen – He took me from the miry pit of sin and set me upon a Rock and established my goings.  Oh that I never forget this and continue in my first love for Him.  Are you still excited about your salvation and overwhelmed with the goodness of God!
    • Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
  13. Outward beauty does not last forever, but a woman who fears God will be praised.
    • Pro 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
  14. His Commandments and do them – God’s mercy is great toward those that do His commandments.
    • Psa 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
      Psa 103:18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
  15. Nothing is impossible with God– God does the impossible – nothing is too hard for Him.  Have you asked a hard thing of Him today?
    • Matthew 16:9  Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
  16. Lot’s Wife – What a sobering thing to remember.  She was only interested in what the world had to offer. What did it profit her if she were to gain the whole world?  She lost her soul.   Keep your eyes on the Lord; you will be blessed for it.
    • Luk 17:32 Remember Lot’s wife.
      Luk 17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
